May Peace Be With You, My Peace I Give To You

John 14:27
May peace be with you; my peace I give to you: I give it not as the world gives. Let not your heart be troubled; let it be without fear. (BBE).

Peace go with you. Jesus Christ gives you peace, follow Him. Let us say that you are going through a tornado in your life, if Jesus is beside you, He will help you endure. He gives you peace and victory. In that verse, Jesus was telling the disciples that He can give them peace. John 16:33 states:  I have said all these things to you so that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble: but take heart! I have overcome the world (BBE).

John 20:19-21 states: At evening on that day, the first day of the week, when, for fear of the Jews, the doors were shut where the disciples were, Jesus came among them and said to them, May peace be with you! And when he had said this, he let them see his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. And Jesus said to them again, May peace be with you! As the Father sent me, even so I now send you (BBE). That is the moment when Jesus appeared to the disciples after resurrection. He walked in even though the doors were locked and greeted them and they were shocked and thrilled to see Him. Numbers 6:26 states: May the Lord's approval be resting on you and may he give you peace (BBE). May God approve of you and may He give you peace.

Psalms 29:11 states: The Lord will give strength to his people; the Lord will give his people the blessing of peace (BBE). Psalms 72:2-7 states: May he be a judge of your people in righteousness, and make true decisions for the poor. May the mountains give peace to the people, and the hills righteousness. May he be a judge of the poor among the people, may he give salvation to the children of those who are in need; by him let the violent be crushed. May his life go on as long as the sun and moon, through all generations.  May he come down like rain on the cut grass; like showers watering the earth. In his days may the upright do well, living in peace as long as there is a moon in heaven (BBE).

Psalms 85:10 states: Mercy and faith have come together; righteousness and peace have given one another a kiss (BBE). Isaiah 9:6 states: For to us a child has come, to us a son is given; and the government has been placed in his hands; and he has been named Wise Guide, Strong God, Father for ever, Prince of Peace (BBE). This is a powerful verse indeed. It prophesied the first coming of Jesus Christ hundreds of years before it happened. Isaiah 32:15-17 states:  Till the spirit comes on us from on high, and the waste land becomes a fertile field, and the fertile field is changed into a wood. Then in the waste land there will be an upright rule, and righteousness will have its place in the fertile field.  And the work of righteousness will be peace; and the effect of an upright rule will be to take away fear for ever (BBE). I love verse 17, it is such a powerful verse indeed. If you sow goodness, you will reap righteousness. Isaiah 54:17-10 states: For a short time I gave you up; but with great mercies I will take you back again.  In overflowing wrath my face was veiled from you for a minute, but I will have pity on you for ever, says the Lord who takes up your cause. For this is like the days of Noah to me: for as I took an oath that the waters of Noah would never again go over the earth, so have I taken an oath that I will not again be angry with you, or say bitter words to you.  For the mountains may be taken away, and the hills be moved out of their places, but my love will not be taken from you, or my agreement of peace broken, says the Lord, who has had mercy on you (BBE).

The hills may be moved out of their place, but His love for us will not be taken from us. Isaiah 54:13 states: And all your builders will be made wise by the Lord; and great will be the peace of your children (BBE). Zechariah 6:13 states: And he will be the builder of the Temple of the Lord; and the glory will be his, and he will take his place as ruler on the seat of power; and Joshua will be a priest at his right hand, and between them there will be a design of peace (BBE). Luke 1:79 states: To give light to those in dark places, and in the shade of death, so that our feet may be guided into the way of peace (BBE). Jesus came to Earth to give light to those in darkness. Notice how Jesus didn’t come to applaud the righteous, but to save the lost. Luke 2:14 states: Glory to God in the highest, and on the earth peace among men with whom he is well pleased (BBE). Luke 10:5 states: And whenever you go into a house, first say, Peace be to this house (BBE). That was one of the instructions that Jesus gave to his disciples before he sent them on missions to spread the good gospel news. Acts 10:36 states: The word which he sent to the children of Israel, giving the good news of peace through Jesus Christ (who is Lord of all) (BBE).

Romans 1:7 states: To all those who are in Rome, loved by God, marked out as saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ (BBE). Romans 5:1 states: For which reason, because we have righteousness through faith, let us be at peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (BBE). 2nd Corinthians 5:18-21 states; But all things are of God, who has made us at peace with himself through Christ, and has given to us the work of making peace; that is, that God was in Christ making peace between the world and himself, not putting their sins to their account, and having given to us the preaching of this news of peace. So we are the representatives of Christ, as if God was making a request to you through us: we make our request to you, in the name of Christ, be at peace with God. For him who had no knowledge of sin God made to be sin for us; so that we might become the righteousness of God in him (BBE). God made every thing. Jesus didn’t sin, but He died for us. Galatians 5:22 states: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, a quiet mind, kind acts, well-doing, faith (BBE).

Jesus gives you peace. Ephesians 2:14-17 states: For he is our peace, who has made the two into one, and by whom the middle wall of division has been broken down,  having in his flesh put an end to that which made the division between us, even the law with its rules and orders, so that he might make in himself, of the two, one new man, so making peace; and that the two might come into agreement with God in one body through the cross, so putting an end to that division. And he came preaching peace to you who were far off, and to those who were near (BBE). Jesus came and preached peace. Colossians 3:15 states: And let the peace of Christ be ruling in your hearts, as it was the purpose of God for you to be one body; and give praise to God at all times (BBE).

Jesus is of peace. 2nd Thessalonians 3:16 states: Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. May the Lord be with you all (BBE). Jesus gives you peace all the time, follow Him. Hebrews 13:20 states: Now may the God of peace, who made that great keeper of his flock, even our Lord Jesus, come back from the dead through the blood of the eternal agreement (BBE). Psalms 11:1 states: In the Lord put I my faith; how will you say to my soul, Go in flight like a bird to the mountain (BBE)? Psalms 27:1 states: The Lord is my light and my salvation; who is then a cause of fear to me? the Lord is the strength of my life; who is a danger to me (BBE)?

God is my light and salvation, Amen. Psalms 56:3-11 states: In the time of my fear, I will have faith in you. In God will I give praise to his word; in God have I put my hope; I will have no fear of what flesh may do to me.  Every day they make wrong use of my words; all their thoughts are against me for evil.  They come together, they are waiting in secret places, they take note of my steps, they are waiting for my soul. By evil-doing they will not get free from punishment. In wrath, O God, let the peoples be made low. You have seen my wanderings; put the drops from my eyes into your bottle; are they not in your record? When I send up my cry to you, my haters will be turned back; I am certain of this, for God is with me. In God will I give praise to his word; in the Lord will I give praise to his word. In God have I put my hope, I will have no fear of what man may do to me (BBE).

Praise God and put hope in Him. Psalms 91:5 states: You will have no fear of the evil things of the night, or of the arrow in flight by day (BBE). Psalms 112:7 states: He will have no fear of evil news; his heart is fixed, for his hope is in the Lord (BBE). Proverbs 3:25 states: Have no fear of sudden danger, or of the storm which will come on evil-doers (BBE). Isaiah 12:2 states: See, God is my salvation; I will have faith in the Lord, without fear: for the Lord Jah is my strength and song; and he has become my salvation (BBE).

God gives you strength. Isaiah 41:10-14 states: Have no fear, for I am with you; do not be looking about in trouble, for I am your God; I will give you strength, yes, I will be your helper; yes, my true right hand will be your support. Truly, all those who are angry with you will be made low and put to shame: those desiring to do you wrong will come to nothing and never again be seen. You will make search for your haters but they will not be there; those who make war against you will be as nothing and will come to destruction. For I, the Lord your God, have taken your right hand in mine, saying to you, Have no fear; I will be your helper. Have no fear, you worm Jacob, and you men of Israel; I will be your helper, says the Lord, even he who takes up your cause, the Holy One of Israel (BBE).

God tells you not to be fearful because He is your helper. Jeremiah 1:8 states: Have no fear because of them: for I am with you, to keep you safe, says the Lord (BBE). In this verse, God is telling Jeremiah that He will keep him safe when he goes and talks to the people and throughout his life. Reassuring him that He is with him and will keep him safe. Matthew 10:26 states: Have, then, no fear of them: because nothing is covered which will not come to light, or secret which will not be made clear (BBE). Acts 8:9 states: And the Lord said to Paul in the night, in a vision, Have no fear and go on preaching (BBE). 1st Timothy 1:7 states: For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of self-control (BBE). That is a great verse indeed. God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but he gave us power, love, and self-control. He wants you to fear Him but other things you shouldn't be too worked out about. Revelation 2:10 states: Have no fear of the things which you will have to undergo: see, the Evil One will send some of you into prison, so that you may be put to the test; and you will have great trouble for ten days. Be true till death, and I will give you the crown of life (BBE).

Revelation 21:8 states: But those who are full of fear and without faith, the unclean and takers of life, those who do the sins of the flesh, and those who make use of evil powers or who give worship to images, and all those who are false, will have their part in the sea of ever-burning fire which is the second death (BBE). That verse describes the second death, being tossed into the lake of fire.

In conclusion, in John 14:27, Jesus is talking to his disciples some time before he was arrested. Jesus Christ gives you peace, follow Him. Let us say that you are going through a tornado in your life, if Jesus is beside you, He will help you endure. He gives you peace and victory. In that verse, Jesus was telling the disciples that He can give them peace. Glory to God! Praise the Lord! Give thanks, praise and glory to God always. Thank Him for every thing He has done for you in the past, present and will do in the future. If you follow righteousness you will find life, righteousness and honor.
